COSMED introduces the new ICU (Intensive Care Unit) option for Quark RMR, the Gold Standard laboratory for clinical nutrition assessment. The new option allows accurate Indirect Calorimetry assessment performed in mechanically ventilated patients.

The new software feature allows users to detect “bias flow” and the whole expired breath coming out from the ventilator (through exhalation port) with a simple click of the mouse. The new feature is available from 9.1 release.

The ICU kit is provided with sterile sample lines and filters reducing sterilization issues at minimum.
The ICU option is compatible with many ventilators in the market.
